PhilipH
Hi there, Ive removed the Aluminum beading from my windows to replace the double glazing units which have failed. The small plastic clips that sit in the frame to hold the beading have broken off when i removed them. Does anyone know what these are called? And where I could buy replacement ones? Ive attached some photos of the bead and the clip. The stud that holds the clip into the frame has broken.
Alan Ambrose
Hmm, tricky - a typical problem with plastic sitting in the sun - or just aging. A long shot - if you can figue out what frames they are - ask the manufacturers. Otherwise ask a teenager to CAD them up and send them out for 3D print (better quality than a consumer-level 3D printer.)
Alan Ambrose
I should say I did the latter once (I did the CAD work) and the results worked out well. The parts were fairly cheap since they are small and commercial 3D print pricing is largely based on part volume.
