Barny Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Hi. My architect positioned the water and electric coming into the plant room under the MVHR unit, which my groundsman has done as per the plan. Does anyone know how high a stop top needs to be or how much space do we need to leave below the MVHR unit? I don’t have a plumber on site yet to ask this and MVHR needs to know / tell MBC so they can agree the joists. i am assuming the electrician just go around the edge of the room so it an issue? many thanks
joe90 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 Sounds like a plant room so I would board the wall out so fixings can go anywhere, stop tap best near the floor i guess then plumber has more flexibility.
Barny Posted July 9, 2024 Author Posted July 9, 2024 So the stop tap doesn’t need to be a minimum height off the floor? Is 12” enough clearance? thanks
joe90 Posted July 9, 2024 Posted July 9, 2024 (edited) I cannot recall any regulation on stop tap height, most stop taps in existing houses are under the sink just above floor height. I can find no regulation regarding height See https://www.nwl.co.uk/globalassets/customer-pdfs/developer-pdfs/guidance-note-06---pipes-entering-buildings-rev4-2020.pdf Edited July 9, 2024 by joe90
