ric243
Hi all, I've got a couple of fence posts secured to bare blockwork work with R-Kem II bonded anchor. I'm wanting to render the walls, so wish to remove both posts. Has anyone got experience with r-kem? It seems pretty sturdy stuff and I'm wondering how easy it's going to be getting these posts off? Their 4 inch posts and don't want to end up bringing the wall down 🙄 Cheers Richard
ric243
I suppose I could run a saw down the back.
OwenF
I’ve used this with threaded bar to attach ledger boards. The part fixing the timber to the masonry is just a nut and washer. Do you have that? Surely just un-tighten. hopefully someone hasn’t resin fixed an actual bolt through the timber….
Super_Paulie
Like Owen says, the resin will be holding the bolt into the block and the post will just be attached to that, surely? The post will just need working off the bolt shaft, might be a struggle if it's a tight fit, get some lever in between the block and post.
George
If you can't take off the nut and remove then cut the threaded bar. Failing that, you will probably need to cut the actual blocks and remove them..if you're rendering over a bit of patched up blockwork doesn't matter.
