Cheap cladding trims

Hi. We had our new bathroom about two years ago because the old one was so dated. We were so pleased with it, but two years on the internal trims in the shower, first of all the protective started peeling so I pulled it off and now the cheap silver sticker is coming of revealing the white plastic underneath and also has pulled some of the silicone seal away. Why would they make cheap trims with silver stickers on for inside a shower cubicle ,😔 should I call back the guy who did our bathroom as DIY is not our thing so we can't do it ourselves.

Really depends what cleaning products are being used as to how long the coated trim last. Yes you can get marine grade stainless steel but that will discolour with acidic (vinegar, lemon juice etc.) cleaning products, stainless won’t peel but it is horrendously expensive compared to the plastic ones. It would be very difficult to get the original fitter back at their expense as you have been using the bathroom for two years.

I'm using the same surface cleaner I've always used. I wouldn't mind plastic if it wasn't just a silver coloured sticker on the front like on a child's toy. I guess I'll have to live with a hole in the sealant and broken paper stickers until I can afford to get someone in to do it.
