Twisted upstairs ceiling joist

Im about to overboard with insulated plasterboard an existing top floor lath and plaster ceiling.

I just popped up the loft to check out the joists and mark up where the joists sit so that I can be sure to fix directly into them ... But we've got a problem...

You will see from the photo that a few of the joists have twisted over the years, and quite badly. The joists are fairly straight until about mid way into the room (just behind my feet) then they twist as they approach the internal load bearing wall.

With the additional weight of the plasterboard this will only make things worse with time.

Any advice on the best way to fix this or beef up the joists?

Thanks for any advice 🙂
