Fly screen doors

Hi All,

I hope you are doing well.

Someone has pointed me out to these fly screen door solutions.

https://www.streme.co.uk/shop/fly-screens/for-your-home/for-doors?page=1
https://www.noflystore.co.uk/hinged-fly-screens/
https://www.flyscreenqueen.co.uk/flyscreen-doors/aluminium-hinged-self-closi/

Have you tried any of them? Can anyone provide some feedback?

While I replace my PCV doors I can see that with NoFlyStore doors I have to provide a sufficient recess for the fly door frame to go in.
Thanks

Hi,
Assuming you're not commercial premises or driven by some sort of regulation.

3-4 strategically placed Vapona stickers do surprisingly well & last years.

Touch wood after year 1 in the house and turning the heating up that first spring, triggering a hatching a deluge, haven't suffered from flys since.

I do use the adhesive fly traps and these are successful for small size flies but these don't catch the big ones or wasps.
I have a garden with flowering hedges on both sides and on top of flies I would not want some bumblebees, bees or wasps coming in. I don't kill them but then I have to help them get out.
They simply don't understand that window glass is an impenetrable barrier for them but they keep trying.

I found the fly mesh to be very good to keep the flying insects outside however the cheap mesh on eBay is temporary, don't last more than one or two seasons tops.

I can recommend bamboo/bead door fly screens £20 on Amazon

JVL Provence Hanging Wooden Beaded Door, Zig Zag Curtain Screen, 90cm x 180cm Approx, Multi, 90 x 180cm

We have two one at the outside door and then another after the hall to lounge.
we very rarely get any flys in the lounge, the odd one gets through the first set and turns opposite way to lounge and we have to coax it back out a window. Lots of flowers and bees in my garden but never remember having a bee in the house.  So can recommend two stage defence.
Not tried the full screen you mention as we have a dog who comes and goes as he pleases from bed to bed, in and out all day, a Greyhound, very lazy dogs.

The poison ones are great, but they've stopped making them now, so other than diminishing supplies on ebay they are tricky to get hold of.

The ones that work just by sticky are are bit rubbish in comparison.
