What to get in terms of WWHRS?

Recommended Posts

I've seen that City plumbing sell a couple of different vendors products

https://www.cityplumbing.co.uk/c/product/energy-efficiency/waste-water-heat-recovery/c/1829000/

I have two bathrooms

One has a bath, and a shower on top of it
One is an en suite that only has a shower tray

What waste water heat recovery system works best for both these?

Can I mix and match vendors? Would it be worth mixing and matching too?

It I want more en suites in the future, is one brand better than the other?

we are using the recoup column unit, they only work for showers is my understanding as they need a constant cold feed to take the heat. We are plumbing all the showers (4) into a single unit and insulating the waste feeds to the unit.

My shower is merely connected just above the bath tub fwiw

Will one column unit be able to help support four showers? I thought they have to have a system A / B thing?

yes it doesnt matter how many really within reason, the cold water from a running shower goes through the heat exchanger in the column and you can either send it back to the shower (if only 1 shower) or send it back to the tank which is what we are doing. For a single shower they do a unit that goes under the bath that may be easier to plumb.

Thanks. May I ask why you went for Recoup instead of Zypho too?
