Doing my 'Grand Designs' moment on a property in Llantwit Major in S.Wales - a full refurb of an existing dwelling and a sizeable extension.
Very much a fabric first approach, aiming to get close to Passiv principles.

Most of the construction side has been completed, we're now in 1st fix stage, but there's load of niggly bits I need advice on, and that's why I'm here!

Gonna ask about modifying structural joists first....

Am I right in suspecting that you are building on a slight slope? I ask because I had no idea how useful a gentle slope can be ... drainage, SUDS, garden, burying top spoil...
