all in ballast or gravel and sand

Hi there

 

could someone please tell me what is the Difference between all in ballast and sharp sand and 20mm gravel in a cement mix, as ballast is a lot cheaper

Go for ballast. You don't actually want to have sand and 20mm gravel with nothing inbetween. The ideal mix has a full range of sizes, and should all be crushed material, ideally, as that gives the strongest concrete.
