These are tilings by irregular pentagons (type 8 (Kershner, 1968) in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pentagonal_tiling).

 

 

It wouldn't be very fair to challenge you to figure out the mathematical meaning from this angle, but I don't want to include spoilers either!
