Cooling is academic imho, as even in-roof has a decent air gap behind it.

My roof will be on a new build and one of the appeals of a (30deg, zinc) standing seam roof is a continuous, watertight surface. I didn't fancy compromising this for a mostly cosmetic appearance. If a panel needs replacing, I imagine one that's clam-mounted would be pretty straightforward too.
