Matching in l shaped roof

Hi all, I’m helping my friend put a new roof on his house and am pretty confident with doing straight forward square roofs the rear has an extension on it.

question for the pros, how do you go about where the roof meets up with the main roof to provide the right head lap on the course where both roofs meet?

any help would be much appreciated.

iv added a photo to better explained what I mean. The read line through the roof is where I mean where they meet y up.

thanks in advance

Hi, it’s a continuation of the same roof

In that case lathe out for the main roof (to keep your full bottom tile) run down the extension to keep the same coursing (or you will see the join) and loose any odd bit at the bottom of the extension, no one will notice it there.
