Do Any Thermostats work with OpenTherm in a Multi-Zone System?

Recommended Posts

I was planning on a three zoned underfloor heating system using three Nest thermostats but discovered that Nest doesn't support OpenTherm in a multi-zoned system.

1. Do any thermostats support OpenTherm in this configuration?

2. I've read that I can enable OpenTherm on one zone but that it'll cause the boiler to set the temperature for all zones. Is that better than nothing? Is it worth it?

Not sure how you could unless the 3 zones had there own mixer and the opentherm controlled the mixer.  Or each zone is run at a completely different time without overlaps. The opentherm bit just modulates the boiler output.  I would try running as a single zone and balance down rates to manage temperature in areas
