bighouseproblems
Hope someone can give me some advice. We had some triple glazed windows installed and are relatively happy with them. They have solved most of our noise problems. However I wanted to know if additional seals can be installed. They are tilt and turns with an outer and inner seal currently. I can see what looks like a channel near the outer edge which could accept a gasket of sorts.
Redbeard
Do you think they leak air? If so do you perhaps have some claim against the manufacturer or installer, and if not, why do you think you need another set? I suspect a channel near the outer edge is more about shedding water tan being another place for draught-stripping. I have windows with a single draught-strip which do not appear to leak, and 3G units with 2 seals on te opening lights which seem tight as a drum. craig
Where do you live? For example near a busy road, airport? You need to consider the type of nouse, where the noise is travelling for example. It might be around the frame. It’s likely just PU foam which won’t block all the noise, compriband would have helped but to late now bug it could also be travelling up through the ground etc. Extra gasket isn’t going to do much tbh.
