I've got exactly the same slate quotes from two different suppliers, pretty much the same price BUT one is listed as "prime" and one is listed as "ultra". So I'm now left wondering what the difference is. Its clearly referencing the grade of slate but which is better?? Another phone call to add to the list. They don't make it simple eh! Mr Punter Posted June 12, 2017 Share Posted June 12, 2017 A lot of the premium slates need less sorting and have less wastage. Those from a reputable supplier with a long guarantee will be more expensive but better. You will need to try v. hard to find anything that will fail within 30 years. Lots will last 100+.
