Slates

We ended up doing all the roofing and slating ourselves on our previous build 

Due to ridiculous prices being quoted 

My wife and myself managed ok and made a good job 

Where I did fall short was the choice of slate I wrongly assumed A1 meant best Nearly a thousand twisted slates had to go back The grading and sorting took forever 

 

This time we’ve gone directly to the slate wholesalers We’ve narrowed it down to two slates Each from different suppliers 

Weve a lot of valleys and detail on this roof so we have asked for there most consistent and flattest slate 

Estillo 9 and the other is Sumo 

The Estillo is a cross grained slate Both 600 x 300

5 p per slate difference in price 

But we can’t decide between the two 

Does anyone have any knowledge of either slate
