John R Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Afternoon all , I'm looking to get the trenchwork done and temp standpipe, as well as caravan connection sorted in the next couple of weeks. Should be straightforward enough as we're in light sandy clay soil and we've agreed the run with the neighbour (plus easement on the deed etc). My query is about where the pipe will enter our site, as we have dug into the hill and will have a retaining wall (steels and sleepers) at about 1.5m to the back of the property on the boundary, and the water pipe needs to run behind/ underneath this. Can it run directly behind where the sleepers will form the wall or would it need to be dug back into the bank 750mm? Stand pipe will be located off to the side of the house and a trench running off that to the caravan about 20m away, then final connection will come up the side of the house and into Utility room through the wall. Cheers John
Nickfromwales Posted April 2, 2022 Posted April 2, 2022 Hi. Why not go around the front 3 sides and not disturb the bank?
John R Posted April 2, 2022 Author Posted April 2, 2022 Pipe has to come in from property directly behind the bank, the line of it is the property boundary and no way to get a digger up there for trench work.
