Jon R Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 (edited) Hi to all, my name is Jon and I'm a casual DIYer currently re doing my patio with a cement mould. Seeing as money is tight with new house and stuff, thought it a good idea as can come and go as I please on task. Well all good so far and looking pretty good even if I do say so myself. Now I did add some cement dye (black) to the cement mix with guided lines, but hasn't made a big impression on colour. my wife says paint it all when done, which seems a good idea, but thinking it will soon wear off due to traffic. So my question is would you recommend painting and use a sealer of some kind? If so what what brands are long lasting and does it work? Many thanks in advance. Edited April 28, 2017 by Jon R
Onoff Posted April 28, 2017 Posted April 28, 2017 You can get concrete stains that are applied AFTER you've laid the stuff. Meant I think for freshening up old faded stuff. If you've only just done the job why not try to restain a patch now? Any sealer you apply will of course limit how well stain will work later on should you wish to re-apply. I've used Everbuild toner and Thompson's Water Seal before. We love pictures by the way!
