Resin Bound Driveway Slippy

Hi there, 

 

I recently had a resin bound driveway installed. A tarmac base coat was put down, then the resin installed on top. It was dry all of the days the resin was laid. 

 

It is a big enough area, so they used a float in the large parts. They did lay crushed glass on the surface for grip. 

 

When it's been raining, the drive is slippy, especially where the float was used. Slippy enough to result in 2 kids slipping and falling. 

 

He said it may take a bit of time for the resin top to 'weather in'. 

 

I wanted to check if anyone has experienced this, and if the drive does in fact take time to weather in? If not, what options do we have when we go back to the installer? They are a good firm, and have been doing resin driveways for 10+ years. He said he won't leave me with a driveway that is not practical.

Unfortunately it may Something that you will have to live with 

Resin bound can be quite slippy when wet 

Some friends of ours are on a slope and have been advised to goo for resin bonded  for better grip 

Same price

Thanks a lot. Is there nothing could be done to help it a bit? I had looked into both and read resin bound was the better of the 2 ?.

I have heard of a none slip coating to can be added
