Johnnyboy1972
Hi New here. I have an ongoing question with my house builder on what size of ASHP they put in. It is a Daikin Altherma Low Temperature Split. I need an 8kwh unit and the same houses as mine have that. My unit has never had a data badge on it and it has always struggled when cold to heat the house. My question is, whether there is any way of proving what kWh unit I actually have? House builder says definitely 8 but Daikin confirm my indoor unit was sold with a 6kWh pump, which doesn’t necessarily mean that’s what I have. If I can prove one way or another what size it is then I can at least challenge them further. Any help appreciated. Thanks
Ryangleeson
Hello, Perhaps a stupid question but have you found the data plate for the heat pump? Every heat pump has a serial number and Daikin should be able to tell you its details from this. Also is the house a new build? Cheers
Johnnyboy1972
Hi and thanks for replying. There was never any data on the heat pump @Ryangleeson, that is my issue. I was just wondering if maybe inside heat pump on the compressor or somewhere else it would be marked? It is a new build and the builder says it is an 8kwh but obviously my trust in them isn’t great especially with Daikin saying the hydrobox, which does have data was sold with a 6kwh pump. That was sold to a plumber so obviously they can’t say what was actually installed. Hope that helps.
