Supporting a gable wall to insert lintel

Hi, 

 

I'm opening up a door way in an external gable wall and replacing the existing lintel with a longer one. The wall is non-load bearing, the first floor joists and the roof trusses run parrallell to the wall and it's a bungalow.

 

Do i need to do anything other than support the wall with Acrows and strong boy's from both sides? I can't support the wall on the floor joists obviously.
