Which insurance?

Hi all

 

We are in the midst of a self build, currently have a structural warranty with Protek.

We are parting ways with the main contractors and continuing alone I would like advice on whether I need another insurance to cover theft/damage to the  property or can I just upgrade my structural warranty to cover us for public liability etc. to cover us for employing tradesmen?

Protec won’t care what you do 

They never bothered inspecting ours Just wrote the certificate out at the end 

If you haven’t site insurance you need cover for general public liability and fire and criminal damage Basic

That is interesting we have had someone out a couple of times already to check things

He came to see the footings 

Said it was a bit muddy send photo 

He came to see the roof Didn’t climb up Said it looked a grand job

Final inspection Said he was covering for a sick colleague could stop Gas cert slate cert electric Copy of BC cert 

Didnt go upstairs or walk round the outside 

They know they will never have to pay out 

But we will need the cert when we sell next year
