Recently put cove up to discover distemper it all fell down so sanded back to bare plaster and stabilized put up more coving but it still is cracking will this fall down

It fallen down once we used cove adhesive qnauf then for second time cove adhesive ever build

The hole house has distemper walls and ceilings we have zinnser gards it but paint still staining and peeling off do at wits end

the cove adhesive is a bit poor until it sets. As long as it doesn't move when its had time to dry i'm sure it'll be OK, just caulk the crack before decorating.

 

I find using drywall adhesive is much better than these cove adhesives

Recommendation is to remove the distemper coating: https://propertyworkshop.com/paints/distemper-paint/

It was 3 weeks befor we painted it and then cracks started appearing it sounds hollow around the cracks so that why concerned it may fall down thanks for feed back do you no much about distemper

I don't know much about distemper, that article i linked sounds like its certainly best removing it before doing anything else otherwise you'll be fighting it forever.

it certainly sounds it. I suppose you could always go back to brick, but that is a huge messy job!

That why cove is cracking we think it's all so time consuming
