So I am at the stage where I need to really sort out the house heating design.

I have UFH upstairs and downstairs on separate manifolds, 3 towel rads and I can also make use of a PV array on the roof.

I have been pulling in various quotes for Thermal stores. I had it in my head to use a simple S plan system but one of the suppliers has recommended a twin coil thermal store with DHW/UFH.

Any thoughts from those in the know would be very much appreciated.

thanks

Standard UVC and buffer for me here as three zone S plan and then let the UFH pull from the buffer, towel rads I would put on their own circuit/zone.

Make sure both UFH manifolds have the proper blending valves and circulation pumps - 1 per manifold - and don’t be tempted to think one will do.

UVC will give decent levels of hot water - how many bathrooms / showers..??

Thank you

we have 1 main bathroom, 2 en-suite, giving a total of 2 baths and 3 showers. 4 of us in total but we tend to all get showered etc at different times.

250 litre UVC would be fine unless you have space for a larger one..? Would be good as a PV dump so if you can accommodate a 300 or 400 litre UVC then it would be useful. How much floor space has UFH..?

Thank you Peter,

UFH is 103m2 downstairs and 54m2 upstairs, total 146litres and 11kw to heat.

Yes I have room for a larger UVC.

Much appreciated.

So in summary, a 250l UVC with single coil for DHW, immersion (twin ?) with a 100l buffer.  3 zone S plan with the UFH off the buffer instead of the main hot feed. Use a room thermostat to control the towel rads ?

Thanks
