Recommendations Underfloor Heating Engineers London

Recommended Posts

Im looking for underfloor heating engineer recommendations to check my system is performing optimally and my neighbours are looking for the same please.

My system works - takes about 3 hours for heat to come through though - wondering if its been set up properly or this is normal.

I cant find that many specialists online - I called a couple of places

One based up north want £450 for an inspection - includes thermal imaging

Another place in London - £130 + VAT - showed them photos of my manifold etc - theyre saying its an "old design" and recommend a complete replacement - quoting £2500

If you mean it takes 3hrs for the floor to feel warm after you switch on from cold, I don't think that is abnormal, UFH does not respond like radiators. It takes a while for the water, then the screed floor, to warm up.

The water flowing out of your boiler should heat up almost straight away.

This thread is pretty close to being a duplicate of this thread, might be an idea to merge them:

I've replied on the original thread with some info regarding floor temperatures, heat output and how to use a cheap IR thermometer to check the floor temperature.

Thanks guys. Yes Im going to accept my heating system as is - I dont use it often enough to warrant any investment. Its seems to be working ok according to everyones feedback.

My neighbours have been told theres is at risk of overheating by an engineer so really asking for recommendations for someone to look at their system. Doesnt seem to be that many specialists around. And the ones I have called dont seem very trust worthy.
