Hi, I'm fitting a new kitchen. The corner unit and next ones either side of it are all good (don't you just love laser levels?). On one wall I've got to fit an integrated Washing machine. The Washing machine dimensions say width is 600mm. I'm still waiting on delivery of the machine and can't put the fitting on hold until it arrives. Presumably I've got to leave 600mm space for the washing machine plus a few mm either side to allow it to slide in/out? Or do I? Should I space the next unit exactly 600mm away from the last (I'd use a spare existing unit as a temporary template) or do I space the next unit in the run with a (say 2 or 3 mm) gap on either side? Thanks.

Selecting kitchen colour and going slowly mad!.. Given: a large kitchen-diner, 4mx8m (L-shaped room). Large bifold patio doors (5m wide). U-shaped kitchen layout (need lots of space inside U). Floor - Porcelanosa Delaware Nogal (non-negotiable at this stage). Choices: a very light grey colour ("Borrowed light") / a bold dark ("Carbon") / a mellow pinkish ("Calamine"). They say rule of thumb is dark floor=light kitchen and vice versa. Can you please vote on your preference, thank you.

Bless her, she fainted when the salesman told her the price of her heart's desire kitchen. So, being a goodun, she's off on Tinternet designing one herself using the online planning tools you can get. She's working from home today - painful shoulder. And from her office I can hear the odd growl of annoyance ("Could write a better program than this myself"), and the occasional hiss of frustration ("Rats! session timed out, but I've been working on it for two hours") Anyone know of a good bit of kitchen planning software that'll design-her-happy?
