Stud partitions sequence of build question. 2 options I see: A. Airtightness membrane to underside of joists, then batten ceiling, then stud partitions. This keeps service void free, is fixing head plate to battens ok? B. Stud partitions to underside of joists, then airtightness membrane, then batten How do services go through stud here though House is 70,s with site made truss roof. All internal walls stud partitions removed to reconfigure layout

Hi Russell, I don't think they are structural. There is concrete posts at corners or either side of openings and intermediately between bigger spans. Max span between posts is 2850mm. Above the posts and the panels and underneath the wall plate I think there is a concrete ring beam. It is a Roh-Fab house constructed in Ireland.

Hi All, Currently have a 1970's house made of prefabricated concrete panel walls 75mm thick. On top of this is a 75x75mm timber wall plate bolted to top. A truss roof is above this. I want to put in floor insulation and in order to get 2400mm ceiling height in need to raise the ceiling by 120mm. I believe putting a block on the wall isn't really a possibility, therefore, I was thinking of increasing the wall plate level by adding to the wall plate? Any suggestions to this? My thoughts are: 1. Create a beam with 2 number 125x35mm timbers bolted together to create a timber beam 70mm wide by 125mm high 2. Put a 75x125mm timber on top of the existing wall plate 3. Stack a 50x75 and a 75x75mm on top of existing All 3 options would have L-Straps 900mm long fixed to concrete wall I would think in all 3 instances the roof would need to be removed to do this. Interested to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions.

Roof loading is probably a bit more. Does all suppliers offer a 200mm core? Assume with a 200mm core bigger spans are achievable.

@Russell griffiths That looks good. Maybe my small hands might come in useful on this build after all. Would you engineers drawings you could PM me so i could get an idea.

Thanks Guys for comments. I didn't know the steel could be encased within the ICF, thats great (I like that the airtightness element of the concrete can continue through). Is the steel simply supported by the webs of the ICF blocks? Or how is it held in place?

Hi Everyone, Amazing forum here and so much information by all thank you so much (I've enjoyed endless scrolling!). I know it is dependent on engineer but I am just looking at what spans is available above sliding door openings (Pre-Planning Stage in Ireland). I have a 5m opening and was wondering what height of concrete and rebar is needed above the opening? It is bungalow with just roof load above head of door. Would anyone have a something similar and to that end would anyone be willing to send me their engineers drawings of ICF Walls and Roofs. Thanks in advance, Brian
