Hi
I want to run a 5" twin wall flue through a floor, from a wood burning stove. The room below is a living room with the stove, the room above is a bedroom.
I understand that I need fire break between the rooms, usually that would be a plasterboard ceiling. But when shopping for a ceiling/floor plate for the flue to pass, all of them seem to be ventilated.
I understand that the vent helps to cool any potential heat loss from the twin wall pipe, but surely this will breach the fire break.
Does the ceiling registration plate have to be ventilated?
Thanks, Guy
