  1. Hello everyone, I have an old house and have just turned on the heating for the first time this year. There are two walls in the bedroom that are damp from the waist down. It’s definitely not a pipe as there is a door between the two walls so I very much doubt it is a leak. Should I rip down the wall and have a look inside or is there some way to dry it out and stop it sweating apart from a dehumidifier. any tips and tricks will be greatly appreciated!
  2. Yes they do charge for pre-application advice around £45-£60. However this is the only way to speak to the conservation officer as at the moment there is no other route. Really it was only to see what documents are needed to make a successful application.
  3. So is it okay if I could put a draft of my pre-application approval on here and get some feedback?
  4. Hello all, A bit of a long read here I am afraid but I would very much appreciate any advice on the pre-building application form that needs to be filled in for the council. I have a severe disability and I currently live in a grade 2 listed building. Unfortunately our wooden sash windows have gone to pot in which we will have to replace them. There is basically a gap now in the window to the outside which is not great for my health along with the mould. We have had various companies come out and say that the sash windows are not repairable and have rotted all the way through. This is my preferable option to replace them, like for like. I know that councils do not like anything to do with grade 2 listed and changes but I need this pre-application to hit the spot. I'm not sure where to begin or how to word it. If anyone could help provide me with a template that would be great. Many thanks Mike
