  1. Hi, new here so hello to you all, i've just started laying my new laminate, but not cut one piece yet, just ran into a problems, two pictures here, you can see the way the laminate is laid and when i go to lay the third row it doesn't match the first two rows, and the joins will be out if try to make it match, any ideas how to lay this with similar joins all over without wasting loads of flooring, thanks for any help really appreciate it.
  2. So, i have decided to repoint the Chimney, and then use a silicon sealer, which turns the brickwork a slight different colour, but fades over time, seems there are some good reviews out there for this type of treatment, i even watched a video just now of a surveyor saying it's natural for water ingress in this way, well, that's all good, but going to seal my Chimney asap. I will update at sometime after i had done this and let you know. thank you all for the reply's. Kind regards
  3. Hi, no not had anybody look at it, and it's adjoining the next door door neighbors stack, could possibly take down mine and re do it, bit it looked ok when i was up there, thanks for the reply.
  4. Hi, thank you all for taking the time to reply, could probably get up there when the weather changes and try wrap it, i have a tarp, and when the weather changes do repointing and change the flashing, it was raining last night and got up there to check and can see the water on the inside on the breast not good, can't do much with the way the weather is right now, but as soon as it breaks if it ever does, i'll be up there, thanks for the reply's it's much appreciated.
  5. Hi, thanks for taking the time to reply, i appreciate it, yeah, it is a bit of mystery, maybe i should render my stack too, just to see if that helps, unfortunately, i can't remove the who stack, as half it is adjoining to my next door Neighbours house, i checked my flashing when i was up there and it all seems good. but thanks for help anyways. best regards
  6. Hi, i hope somebody can help with my roof issue, and the damp problems im facing, so, i had some damp showing in the spare room it was running through the beading in the plaster work, i went up into the loft and where it was seemingly going to this part of the was Chimney running down into the this pint and causing damp, and there was no signs of wet coming in to this point to cause this issue, so was a bit confused by this, so the only other thing i thought was maybe it's coming in through the Chimney, at the top, maybe in through the Hole the Monet hood style pot sit on top, anyway, i bought some scaffolding in the summer and got up there to take a look, i found that on the very top of the stack, around the where the Chimney sleeve sits there was a hold about the size of a 10 pence piece, i dug at it but it but couldn't tell how far down it went, so i decided to replace the sleeve and the buy a new hood for the top as it had the old central heating alloy cap on the top, i repaired the sleeve with a brand new one and renewed the cement around both of them that was there and checked the flashing on that side where the waters seemed to be coming in from, i don't think that it's reaching that point any longer, but am still uncertain, anyway, i climbed into the loft loft to put an aerial wire into my son bedroom and saw that there was hard board on that same side soaked in water, today i checked and it's dried out a bit, i just can't see where the water maybe coming in front, it's confusing, i have also noticed that the Chimney stack is damp coming through the bricks on the inside of the loft, i have included some pictures of the work i did. any help i would so grateful, thank you
  7. Thanks for that, i was hoping to find somebody on here, i'm planning on doing the work myself, as i am semi skilled builder, and can complete most jobs. best regards
  8. This is what i am trying to build, but need it in plans that will be good enough for the local Council. Bearing in mind, it's a commercial property. thanks
  9. This is one of the issues, when filling out this form, i have my own plans, basic, that i have drawn up, but not sure, if they would be good enough for Bristol City Council, so i may need somebody to do these for me. The planning porthole i find totally confusing to use. Thanks for the reply's anyway.
  10. Hi, is there anybody who can help fill out this form please, for Bristol City Council. thank you Full plans and building notice application form.pdf
  11. Hi, thanks for all the replies and advice, i really appreciate it, i have managed to locate the pipe, can anybody suggest what i need to connect to this pipe, to take it up and out, i can't block this off, or use a single piece fitting, as the toilet will still be in use, until we fit the upstairs toilet. thanks
  12. Hi Peter, i did measure where the pipe is at the back of toilet, and then measured to the outside, so if the pipe does come out there, and not on some sort of angle, then i assume, that i am digging in the right place, and i wasn't aware, that i ad to let building control know, so i would need to let me local council know of what i'm doing?.
  13. Whats an IC, downstream, which way? thanks
  14. I have opened both manholes, and pulled the flush several times, those are the only manhole covers in my garden, but none of them show flush water coming through, and that's a real shame, my next plan was this.
  15. Yes there are two covers, i have opened both and pulled the flush, and we see no water come through any of them? but on the first one, we hear the sound of water, and thinks we're going to see it, but it doesn't appear, i poured water down that manhole, and the water runs towards my neighbours house, so maybe that's the reason, only thing i can do is, go next door, ask if i can see it come through there.
