  1. Thank you - really helpful. The insulation boards were not taped - just sitting cut in strips underneath and the screed was poured on top. It was not mixed on site. The weather has been warm and sunny - it’s a south facing room. The cracking seems to be occurring the most on the edges near the patio doors where the screed has less depth as was over brick and not insulation boards. What is the remedy for a cracking screed like this? Does it all have to be gunned out?! Thank you for your help. Speaking to the builder tomorrow…
  2. Hi, I’d appreciate some help with my new extensions floor. The screed was laid 8 weeks and recently (in the last 2 weeks) it has started to lift and crack. Please see the photo of one section (there are many).. You can press the screed and chunks lift off …. Finger can push the screed down and you can feel the celotex underneath. Thank you
  3. Thank you - near London. Porcelanosa seems to have very little stock at the moment hence looking elsewhere.
  4. I need to buy replacement floor and wall tiles for 3 bathrooms which were incorrectly installed (new build) under an insurance claim. The existing tiles are Porcelanosa but not made anymore. My budget is up to the cost of the original tiles - which leaves it quite open! The only issue I have is that I don’t know any tiling companies aside from Porcelanosa. I would REALLY appreciate recommendations on quality tile companies please. many thanks ?
  5. Thanks Mike this is really helpful. If I was going to buy some tape, to tape the cavity closer to the block work - what would you recommend? I should also fill the holes then in the block work. What should I use? Trip to Screwfix coming. Thanks so much.
  6. Thank you very much - it is a relief to hear that the plastering will make a difference and the drown of car engines may decrease. Plasterer coming Monday. I’m not sure on compriband
  7. We’ve just had Internorm windows fitted - they are Timer Aluminium HV450 so should offer sound reduction 41-46dB. They have replaced timber sash windows. I am attaching some fitting pictures as not yet plastered. Bought for sound proofing but disappointed in what they are giving. could anything have been done on the fitting to improve the sound proofing? We asked for best sound proofing tapes/materials. It is a huge amount on windows £ to not get what we wanted. They are not plastered yet - will this make a big difference? thanks everyone.
  8. Such a help reading Ecohaus reviews as have been progressing a quote with them. Not going with them now! Any feedback on Thames Valley Windows? Infinite windows? looking to replace wood frame sash windows and acoustics top priority as on a main road with roaring traffic. I was looking at Internorm due to acoustic glass and decibel reductions they can offer. Does anyone recommend Internorm for this? Any other suppliers I should look at? Thank you.
