  1. My Elster A100C meter failed sometime after the June reading. I took it apart and tried the usual thing of renewing the electrolytic capacitors. This had no effect and the circuitry is quite complex. Even getting it apart was not easy (drill 3.5 holes in the base so the clips can be pushed away). So at that point I gave up trying to get it back from the dead and bought a new meter. I bought a Emlite Model ECAa.z (£30 ish on Ebay). The connections are the same as the Elster so it is an easy swap. The moral of the story is to photograph your FIT meter every month. At least you won't lose too much in the way of FIT payments!
