  1. On our renovation project the exposed west elevation will incorporate adjustable external louvres to combat solar gain in an office (above garage), master bedroom and living area - as per this image. It would be great to hear others experiences and what features to consider and how they got on with sourcing and installation. I have started a discussion with Sunshield Unique Louvers- their website is a rich resource and their systems look great but I haven't found any client reviews online.
  2. great question with no explanation to offer! I should be getting a quote from my supplier this week....
  3. Thanks Craig - I appreciate the insight.
  4. No takers then. There range of doors is substantial and looks high end, clearly they don't have a presence in the UK market. I could be a first!
  5. I have been recommended this company for a grand front entrance door. Do any forum users have experience with this French manufacturer?
  6. Good evening. I have been unable to find any views on Finstral windows and a wider search online is limited. Has anyone used this company and if yes, share their experiences? They appear to be be a substantial window & door manufacturer in Europe. I have previously been happy with Rationel but my local window distributor has suggested looking at Finstral for my current project and I would like some independent feedback.
  7. I thought I would resurrect this post as I'm faced with a very similar position as you and would be keen to know how it went. I have been researching methods to remove ventilation in our attic roof space (cold roof construction) during a major property renovation and came across this discussion. As we are installing EWI and taking lots of steps to improve U Values and air tightness, I believe the draughty attic is a weak link in our quest. I have shared this "method" with my builder and he has responded with the same questions, especially the detail around the wall plate and how to airtight seal around all the trusses as we simply can't "wrap around" the Tyvek Supro. Any further pointers appreciated.
  8. My building contractor is also suggesting Cortizo sliders on our renovation project (he has them fitted in his own home). Is the view this system is not fit for purpose in the UK climate?
