  1. Yes, EBM Papst motors are excellent. If your motor is equipped with an EC motor, you should be able to easily adjust the speed without being limited to just the three preset speed settings. Is your unit the "UP TO 800 m³/h" version? That’s an impressive high airflow capacity. What speed are you currently running it at?
  2. @runcyclexcski That's a great setup you have there! I have also considered a grow filter like yours, but I was concerned about the carbon dust. By what I have read in some indoor grow forums, they do tend to release some carbon dust, at least in the beginning. Regarding the filters for ventilation systems, such as the Blauberg Cleanbox, I suspect the amount of dust they release should be minimal. I have seen somewhere some guys building their own carbon filters with carbon pellets and they wash them thoroughly to release all the carbon dust before assembling the filter. Here's such a case: I suspect that the carbon in the Blauberg Cleanbox or in the Nuaire IAQ-BOX is properly cleaned so it doesn't release dust (or a significant amount) I have also read somewhere, maybe in the installation manual of the Cleanbox or the IAQ-BOX that they should be mounted in a vibration free surface, as you have also mentioned. I like the idea of using an extra blower to overcame all this filters. What blower are you using? Is it speed adjustable? How do you balance the insulation of new air and extraction of old air? I have recently installed a particulate sensor at the intake of my MHVR system to try to detect smoke, but there is not a direct relation. When there is smoke, the particulares rise, but sometimes there are particulates and no smoke... If I go to the Cleanbox or other solution, I might install one of these sensors after the carbon filter to see the difference. I will probably install a carbon monoxide (CO) at the MHVR intake. That way I will be able to detect when there is smoke and stop the MVHR unit until I get a better solution.
  3. @MikeGrahamT21 Is the carbon filter in the Blauberg Cleanbox made of small carbon granulates, like the following one?
  4. That experience is a great contribution for the forum! What carbon did you use to make your filter? Can you share some pictures of the filter? The the carbon filter is upstream of the MVHR unit? I also saw the Nuair IAQ-BOX, it's quite interesting, but it's quite expensive. According to the documentation, it seems that the particulate filter is before the carbon filter (https://www.nuaire.co.uk/documentstore/IandM/671811.pdf) At the moment I am considering the Blauberg Clean Box (https://blaubergventilatoren.de/en/product/clean-box-200-g4-f8-carbon), or some other equivalent as the Vents FB K2 (https://ventilation-system.com/product/fb-k2-200-g4-c-h13/#downloads), or the TECNA ISOBOX FB-K2 (https://tecna.es/todos-los-productos/comercial-e-industrial/filtracion/isobox-fb-k2/), which is easier to find in Portugal. I still have doubts if a system like this will be able remove the smoke smell or not...
  5. That's great. Didn't quite understood, you have the Cleanbox at the intake of the ventilation unit, or between the ventilation unit and the pipes that go to the individual rooms? I wonder which would be the best way to install it 🤔
  6. You have the Blauberg Cleanbox before or after the ventilation unit? Which version do you have, 125, 150 or 200? I am considering to install in my ventilation system. Edit: Did you noticed any difference when changed from an F7 to a H15 filter?
  7. Have you considered using a inline filter, such as of these: https://www.led-grower.eu/uhlikovy-filtr-inline-phresh-filter-pro-1275m3-h-o200mm/ https://www.led-grower.eu/carboair-inline-1200m3-hod-o200mm/ Although more expensive, there is no need spend extra money in the materials to build the box. I am seriously considering one of those.
  8. Excellent! Now I fully understand your build. Awesome work! Do you notice any carbon residues leaving the filter? Do you see the need for a fine particle filter after the carbon filter?
  9. HI! Thank you for the clarification. I think I understood, but if you can make a sketch, it would be great! Is there any reason for that baffle? Why didn't you connected the hose coming for the MVHR unit to the center of the filter? Without the baffle?
  10. Bumping up this thread 🙂 Great build you have there @Ultima357! I am having issues with fireplace smoke from the neighbours getting in the house through the MVHR system. I tried some activated carbon filters with some success, but in some occasions, they are not enough. I think that the reason this panel filters don't work in some occasions is they have small ammounts of filters I think that I need a more substantial filter the one this build. @Ultima357 I have a couple of questions: If I understood correctly, you have the filter after the MVHR unit, and before the manifold where you connect all pipes that goes to the individual rooms, right? The filter inside the box is connected to pipe that goes manifold, or connected to the pipe that comes from the MVHR unit? I can make the question in other way, the MVHR unit is blowing air into the box, or into the inside or the filter?
