Our home currently has the original Georgian pane single glazed Windows in reasonable condition. 22 Windows, about 40 square metres. No doors . Situated in a Conservation area. Have had the following quotes, all fitted. Replicas in Accoya 41k. Nordan Composite 40k. Smart Alutherm 300 28k. House is 1/4m from coast and two elevations are subject to driving rain from time to time. We do not want UPVC as we have been told by a surveyor friend that this might devalue the property. Is this right? Would Composite Windows risk saturation of the wood behind? Any comments on prices so far? Any suggestions for other windows worth considering? If we got a builder to fit the windows would we still get a FENSA Certificate?
