Hi,
I am looking at fitting a through-the-wall aircon unit to a domestic property. The unit wants two 162mm diameter holes spaced 293mm apart horizontally (centre-to-centre, ie leaving 131mm of brickwork between them).
I will need to drill these into a structural solid brick wall. The brickwork is in reasonable condition. I'm unsure of the thickness of the wall, I guess it's double brick. The holes will be on the ground floor of a two storey house. My questions are:
* Will it be safe to drill these holes without placing any lintel support above them?
* How far from the edge of the wall (corner of house) should these be?
thank you!
M
