  1. Hi all. If I only get approved for 3.6kw on my 9kw inverter app. Can you reapply at a higher level post approval for say 5kw? Thinking, A couple of neighbours on our substation had g99s approved, one's supplier went bust and he says he is never going to get involved with PV again, one is now moving house and will not utilise his. Their applications are still valid for at least 6 months as I understand it. If uk power networks see those approvals they may limit me because of them.
  2. Yes you are probably right. The list I used was spreadsheet, sortable on size and output, useful as I had very little roof space. Sunpower came out the best for size to watt output, so that is what we went with. Now we no longer have a South facing roof and the two guys who have seen it (and quoted) dont seem to be paying much attention to the roof. which seems bizarre. One of them didnt even go up in the roof space for a look at the supporting structure. I think they want a deposit and will then starting adjusting "because what we quoted for wont fit" I have measured to the best of my ability and need to squeeze a quart out of a pint pot. I want to be sure that what I buy is right for me and not what their wholesale has on sale, or in stock. So it comes back to what Carrerahill said earlier.
  3. Yes I think you have distilled it down perfectly in that quote!
  4. Hi Sharpener, thank you for the idea. I have looked on their site but cant see anything.
  5. Thanks Bramco, that is helpful. Yes Dillsue. Was hoping someone knew of an official body must hold that info.
  6. Last time I looked into solar pv 12 years ago, I was able to source a specification table that I imagine had been compiled from all standard tests panels go through. I believe it was Rensmart who did it. The website exists still, but I can find no update. At the time the table had the following contents. Fun fact, most panels were about 12% efficient, with some under 6% but Sunpower approaching 20%. It was itemised as follows. Thanks Product Manufacturer Width (mm) Height (mm) Area (Metre Squared) Watts per metre squared Efficiency % Technology Peak Output(Watts) Peak Voltage Peak Current
  7. Good point Thanks JohnMo and LNP. Thank you. I am talking to the professionals but dont like their layouts! I was trying to come up with a better looking tesselation myself so I could suggest other options as the Opensolar website which they all seem to be using, seems to go one size fits all without knowing the exact dimensions of my roof.
  8. Hi. I am trying to judge how many panels I can fit on available roof space. I googled for this and so far have answers of 200mm, 300mm, 18", and 1 m. I assume distance from ridge of the roof is the same as bottom/side edge, but what is recommended around a flat roof dormer. Links to official documents appreciated.
  9. Thanks Marvin and Johnmo. I will start another topic elsewhere since there are dire warnings about saying more than Hello on this thread.🙂 Just need to have a better look around first, so I dont make TOO much of a fool of myself.
  10. HTC are a taiwanese company...mobile phones. Might be them?
  11. Looking to pick brains on PV as I have seen quotes on here that are way below what I am getting, so wondering what I am doing wrong!
