  1. Oh dear, so just a bunch of jack of all trades masters of nonešŸ¤£. No need to answer, it won't be useful ad
  2. Are there no actual roofers or roof surveyors on this forum that can give some actual opinions instead of randoms that have no useful technical information.
  3. Doesn't the top layer of foil reflect the cold whilst the inner foam insulates the water pipe?
  4. Has anybody used foil covered foam insulation on cold weather vulnerable water pipes, such as in the loft as opposed to just general foam or rubber pipe insulation. I'm trying to find out, unsuccessfully at the moment if the foil layer replaces the need for thick walled insulation, for example reducing wall thickness from 2cm to 1cm.
  5. Just had rotting roofing felt replaced and some tiles aren't back to fitting butted right down to its lower row. The worst offender is top row , left to dormer, see pictures, although that tile is overlapping the tile below there is a 2-3" gap where the tile appears tilted up. The roofer came back but after trying to adjust the tile it didn't look much different and he said there's nothing wrong with that, even though I showed him a photo of the roof before he undertook the job. So am I being over critical about re setting the old tiles exactly back as they were, nicely all lined up vertically and horizontaly or could this be a future problem with wasps, birds, weather?
  6. Hi everyone. Just been having our bathroom transformed and in the process was able to view from inside the perished roof felt around dormer. Having had a roofer come out to re new felt I'm now worried about the way some tiles have been replaced. See picture of top left of dormer, whilst tile is over lapping the tile below it appears to be not butted right down as was before the roof work, this tile is the worst offender but there are six more. The roofer did come back but after 20 minutes of trying to re adjust he said, "it'll still do its job, no problem". So am I being to picky expecting the old roof tiles will go back exactly the same, all straight and nicely butted on to each other, or should I be concerned?
