  1. Hi, we are almost at the stage of choosing bathroom furnitures. Can I get some pointers what to look out for, particularly vanity unit and LED mirror cabinet? Is the cheap unbranded ones from eBay or Victorian plumbing site alike to be avoided? Are the branded one like Crosswater, Grohe…etc well worth the money? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the replies. We want to have overhead monsoon shower, handheld shower and a bath filler. Top priority is to minimise limescale hassle and easy access for future repair or replacement. Having a simply look is also desired in our tiny 1.7x2m bathroom. I have set aside £1K max for bathroom brassware but if the digital shower is prone to have regular break down especially then maybe it's not worth the money? How is digital shower mixed compared to concealed one in terms of reliability, lets say both are Mira for example? Will I be able to replace diverter body without damaging tiles?
  3. @puntloos The Aqua-lava one has a limescale filter that needs to be and replaced every year and I didn't like that. I've bought a Vitra V-Care Essential few month ago and very happy with it. The heated seat is a godsend in winter and it uses liquid limescale remover which I can pour into the system myself whenever necessary. I'll be getting another Japanese WC and is considering upgrading to Vitra Prime or Duravit one. Both looks neat. The Grohe Sensia does not have any heated toilet seat although it has a dryer. I would want to have a heated seat for that money. I have used many Japanese toilet when visiting overseas and most of the times the dryer function were slow and I am not sure if I have the patience if I'm not on on holiday mode, although the UK models may be different.
  4. Hi, I am considering getting a digital shower because it has the neat look of a concealed shower and don't have the con of breaking into tile if it breaks downs. Does any know if they are noisy at all? My neighbour could hear my shower pump running previously althought it was a very faint drilling noise. I will be having a combi so no more shower pump but does that mean no more noise too. Also, I live in a hard water area and wonder if digital has the same reliability as concealed or exposed shower mixer? Thanks.
  5. The product you posted in the link is a back to wall one and will need a cistern. Roca has a intank range which the toilet has inbuilt cistern. https://www.uk.roca.com/products/tank-toilets-069-1003
  6. Hi All, I started my self-renovating journey in 2020 when builder had to stop in the middle of the renovation during covid and I have picked up so many useful info and learned so much from this forum. I am now working on another property that is going to be our forever home which is a 3 bedroom flat approx 90sqm2 in a concrete and brick higher riser built in the 60s. It's been 6 month since the project started and so far I have removed solid walls & installed RSJ (with help from a builder friend), and now I'm in the middle of rewire (through third party inspector scheme) and first fixing bathroom plumbing but now have several obstacles that I will need your help soon. Look forward to getting into discussions and maybe one day I can also contribute what I know into the pool of resource on this forum.
