  1. I can see a steel lintel. I'll go knock off some cement to see. I'm guessing it spans the flange at the top you can see. About 400 centres so steel must be at least 600mm
  2. However there is a garage door way opening on the next wall perpendicular that has a 3 metre opening and no central pillar........!!! It seems a little bizarre
  3. It's the back of a 2 story house gable end made of stone rubble wall 1 metre thick 🤔
  4. There was a half wall and window which I've taken away
  5. Hi. I have an opening in wall 2.2metres long. I can see a steel lintel where the plater has come off. But it has two round steel posts in the middle. Can I take these posts away or are they structural. How can I tell?
  6. Lol. I'm not religious either. The church in Wales and UK are selling loads. I think the pri e has gone up over the years but still they make great homes. Just need drylining and shed loads of insulation. You can even buy now with no covenants.
  7. 2nd pic is Llanberis. The WAUNFAWR one is all other pics. Went for a mountain chalet effect inside
  8. Hi all. Just to say hello. I'm a self builder in North Wales. Converted a couple of churches. Blah blah blah... Have a question about a pergola. I have an existing stone wall that is 450mm thick and 900mm high which is rendered. I want to build a column of concrete on top 2000mm high to support a pergola. 6m2. I know your all going to say I don't know what the wall can support as I have no idea about foundations etc. But........ I was hoping someone out there would say they'd just go ahead. Its just a pergola roof no tiles etc just 11 joists. There will be two other pillars and the other side will be attached to the house Thanks in advance.
