  1. We have thermal store system ( just move in an previous owner said the heating was a bit odd at times but blames the wireless control system ( Honeywell evohome) The system is oil fired boiler and wood stove. There are two stats one on he tank and one on the return pipe to the wood burner I think the wiring on the thermostats are wrong. The cylinder one looks like this see pic 1 shouldnt this be com and 1 and set to 65c ( high because it’s a thermal store) and the return pipe one see pic 2 shouldn’t this be com and 2 and set to 50c ish so it comes on when the fire is lit to boost the heating of the thermal store Anybody able to shed light on this
  2. Sorry my initial post was rather vague its a Honeywell evo home system. Wall thermostat / control unit shows both the dhw and ch as off (see pic 2) the relays that it controls also show both to be off( pic 1 ) yet something is overriding the controller and calling the boiler to fire up 24/7 and heat the radiators, even though the temp of the house is way above the 16c demanded. Is there anything that can override the timer / thermostat yes it has worked before and this started when we tried to solve a lack of hot water issue Not sure what info you need about the tank other than it’s a thermal store system.
  3. I have a Honeywell eco home system but even with the heating switched off and the hot water at the temp set by the thermostats. Both wireless relays are off The boiler is still firing up. Why?
  4. We have a evohome Honeywell system but with only one zone / thermostat. it is connected to the Wi-Fi but not to the internet so how easy is it to have another zone and how does that actually work since all the radiators are on the same pump? what advantage is it to be internet connected and what additional kit do I need?
  5. This may seem a stupid question but how do I tell if a stat is on to turn on something when the set temp is reached or to turn off something
  6. Thanks for the advice offered so far. I have increased the boiler water temp on the boiler itself. Now for the stats do you all think they should be set to 75c or should the wood burner stat be set lower? Although there is a heating pump I’m not sure if there is one on the wood burner pipes. These seem to rely on convection currents as I can’t find a pump. or is the stat to turn on the ch pump to get rid of some of the xs heat from the fire so the stat is the temp at which to turn the pump ON rather then off. I.e. the opposite of the CH stat?
  7. I have very little plumbing knowledge and have moved into a house with a thermal store water tank. This is heated by an oil fired boiler and a wood burner with back boiler We are experiencing issues with a shortage of hot water. We get some but it runs out before filling a bath. According to my research the ideal temperature for the water in the tank is 75c but we cannot seem to get to this value. The thermostats are set to 75c but the water only gets to about 60c. There are two thermostats one on the tank in the middle and the other on a pipe coming out of the tank near the bottom. Where should they be placed and what should they be set to. The other thermostats type device appears to simply display the water temperature on the heating control unit. any advice please.
