Cheers for the advice. All makes sense. Pretty much what I was thinking. Also realised I need to figure the position for the gas boiler vent too.... Like you say...its not to bad if you know the model you are buying. Just don't have time for all the research....need to make time I guess!!

Slating my first roof. Scaffold goes soon so I need everything done ASAP. I don't have time to install the woodburner and bathroom pipework yet...What do other people do in this position. Just fit a short length of pipe through the roof and when you get time, build the pipework from below to link it up??? Concern is getting it in the right place...

The stone walls are a great feature so we simply want to see them, and then a slate going into the gutter. We don't want to see rafters or facia boards. (as per original design). The overall roof design is unusual. Rafters will be supported on oak purlins which sit on structural bedroom walls. Walls sit on steels.

So I'm fitting the wall plate for a slate roof. I have zero roofing experience. It needs to be flush with the outside face. Obviously the 200yr old building has a bent wall. The joiner wants it straight for his rafters. What's the best way to do this. Worried about fitting the aluminium gutter...
