  1. Thanks ProDave. It’s only 6 months old. Does that mean it wasn’t flushed properly when it was commissioned? We also have lots of cool patches, not only in this zone but throughout, so I’m thinking the guy who installed it might not have done a good job.
  2. Hi, I’d appreciate any advice please. I’ve just noticed that one of the flow meters on my Maincor underfloor heating manifold is always at 2 L/min even when I’ve turned the heating off. All other flow meters move back to 0 when the heating is off and down to 2 when I switch it back on. Any ideas what this means? Do I need the plumber urgently? Thanks a lot! GG
  3. Thanks Dave. I will look into this.
  4. Hello, My builder has installed coping stones around my flat roofs but he has not installed them with the correct slope. They should have a 3 degree slope front to back but most have 1-2 degrees at best. Will this make much difference to the function of the coping stones? At the moment we are getting lots of drips running down the front of the stones and at the joins between the coping the drips are reaching the mortar bed and saturating the top of the walls. Will correcting the slope by a small amount make much difference? The drip line is clearly not functioning correctly either. Thanks GG
  5. Hi, My architect specified a flat roof slope of 1:80 minimum with firings. In reality there is little to no fall (measured with electronic level) and a lot of water is pooling on the GRP roof for days on end. Should I accept this? Water is even pooling near the drainage outlet as there is insufficient slope. Advice appreciated. GG
  6. Hi. I am looking for a light grout for an external patio of cream porcelain tiles. Has anyone any experience of proscape brush-in grout in natural light from Topps? Does it stay grainy once cured? I need something free draining but I’m not sure about grainy joints on an otherwise modern looking patio. Thanks
  7. The doors are 1981 so I guess the builder got the smaller height ones. Thanks
  8. We have a double Eclisse pocket system. The jambs have been installed to sit on the screed, while the inner frame is propped up a little. Is this correct? Once the floor goes in I will have a passage height of 1955 max which seems very low. Should the jambs and frame be sitting at finished floor height? Many thanks
  9. Nearly two months later the mortar from the ridge is still streaking down the tiles. Should I be asking for this to be redone? It's streaking down onto my solar panels which have only been in place a couple of weeks so definitely ongoing. Any ideas why this is still happening? Thank you!
  10. Thanks for all the comments. The plumber is on the Gas Safe Register so I'm pretty appalled he hasn't protected the gas pipe properly. We have decided to bring in someone else to check and redo the work. What a shambles.
  11. Here are a few photos of what’s been done. Doesn’t look great to me.
  12. That's really helpful thanks Nick. I will ask if the pipes were taped first as they only said they wrapped them in hessian.
