I have a MVHR system (Villavent design) The design allowed for the addition of their Comfort Cooling unit ...... not full-blown AC, but would cool incoming air a few degrees to make things more comfortable at night. Unfortunately, they never went into the production of the comfort Cooling unit. Does anybody have or added cooling to their MVHR?

I came across a neat solution in US You have read that a neat way of cooling house in hot weather is to open the loft trapdoor and have a desk fan blow air into the loft ..... i.e. create a flow of air out of the house. According to articles significantly cools a house down in the evening. To reduce very high AC costs .... there is a neat system, where you have a grill on the upstairs ceiling. In loft space, there is a 'chamber' with 2 exhaust fans. When you press the remote 'on' button, pair of insulated doors open and fans such out the hot air ... (warmest is at ceiling level) It does into loft space and exhausts through normal vents )ridge tile etc. I did try Villavent and a few others but no luck, does anybody know if similar units are on sale in UK ? https://www.tamtech.com/product/hv1600-2-speed-whole-house-fan/

Would not use a combi on a Thermal tore - don't think that is an efficient way to use them. Anway decision now made ... Heart said Intergas, but could find nobody in area who would install, most had never heard of them. So went for option 2 .... Viessmann Vitodens 100-W Heat only. Great reputation, and a key point for me a stainless steel heat exchanger. Comes with 10yr warranty as standard, and got price down to £1,024 (Incl flue) so good deal.

I found a company that sells the 'DIY parts' and even produces a DIY video Huge range of Light Engines, rotating 'twinkle' or colour change wheels and fibre bundles https://www.stellarlighting.co.uk/ and video link .... So think I have found my supplier Next step is how many 'fibres ..... thinking of part boarding around edge in t&g, and have a central 2m x 2m panel with the lights. So something like 330 or 400 fibre bundles to a 8W (or12W) Cree LED light engine Not sure yet what to use for a panel ..... maybe laminate faced plywood .... or if there is a suitable 'foam/plastic faced board be better as lighter. Thank you both, I'll send them a drawing

Can follow what you describe .... I'll have to look for higher power, you would assume they exist. The HotTub has multiple LED's so some light form thee, but it needs overhead light for sure.

I have a an outdoor 2 level decking, a HotTub is going under the roofed section, and would like to fit an etched (opaque) glass privacy screen down the side (and maybe the back.) It's around 3.1m between the corner posts. Thinking of glass spaced up about 6" from decking floor, and about halfway up the 45 degree gallows brackets. For safety assuming 10mm toughened glass. 2 glass panels with a centre post should work. Anybody done anything like this ... looking for suggestions and suppliers.

Yes .... that is what I expect, was trying to find if somone has done this .... kits, material for backer board etc. The way I would expect would be a single LED source and a mundle of LED pipes

Not an electrical question - seemed best sub-forum to use. I have a Hot-Tub being installed in an outside structure - roofed over decking. I want to cover the inner 'ceiling' with something decorative - currently, it's just joists & rafter of the pitched roof. (pic for context) It would be nice to have some moisture-resistant board with a 'star' like LED array ... maybe changing colour, or just twinkling. Something like this :https://www.stellarlighting.co.uk/inspiration/hot-tub-star-ceiling Has anybody done this or suggestions?

My investigations have shown 3 options (options worth considering) Veissmann Vitodens 100-W in 30kW .. has advantage of excellent build quality and a full stainless steel INOX heat exchanger. Intergas HRE 30 OV in 30kW ... while not stainless heat exchanger it is copper, disadvantage, no GasSafe guy I have contacted has heard of them, no approved installers anywhere near me (75 miles) Worcester Greenstar 8000 Life 30kW .. expensive for a standard aluminium heat exchanger boiler, a lot of money for what it is. Positive is they give a full 10 year guarantee ... anything at all part & labour covered. Much better than warranty, My GasSafe guy used to be Veissmann approved installer, which would get me 10yr warranty .... if he can get 're-approved' then Veissman may be the choice. If not then the Worcester.

Thermal store contents is circulated around boiler. The DHW circuit and UFH both have own transfer coils/heat exchanger

No Thermal store (and hence primaries )is pressurised (1 bar). Agree as per OP .... its a HEAT only boiler I want.

The original design for my build included 'Comfort Cooling. While not full AC, the unit was supposed to lower incoming air temp by 5-10 degrees, therefore making house more comfortable in hot weather. The unit never materialised with the MHRV supplier. Has anybody added 'Cooling' to their MHRV install ?

I just need a HEAT only boiler to connect the primaries to thermal store - no other connection to boiler side.

Background .... for a new SelfBuild I installed NuHeat underfloor heating on both floors. Been in and working well for 18years However the Baxi Barcelona boiler is proving very unreliable, now at the point when it fails it's hard work getting maintenance company to agree to fix it ..(beyond economical repair) The boiler is HEAT only, pressure vessel, pump, thermostat are all external and part of Nu-Heat system, and is set to 30kW output power. Originally NuHeat were very helpful and as part of the design, recommended the boiler. However now they are not willing to help and advise boiler should be specified by my 'heating engineer' ..... when they know that the heating system design was done by them, they were only engineers involved. GasSafe engineer used for gas connection and commission only ...... NuHeat is sold as DIY install for SelfBuilders. So I need to find a 28-30kW condensing HEAT only boiler. I want to have a stainless steel heat exchanger, and it needs to connect to a thermal store. The last 2 requirements are proving difficult ..... Valiant do nice boilers but will not allow connection to a thermal store. BAXI do the 600 & 800 HEAT but while they have stainless steel heat exchangers on System boilers ... only aluminium on HEAT range. So far my only option is the Intergas OV range ..... What boilers are you using on UFH ?
