  1. I have discovered a wiring link in the Sunamp that when connected causes the Heat pump input to timeout at 45 mins & switch to immersion heater. Removing the link stops this happening. If you do need a n Immersion boost at any time it can be done in the Daikin Onecta Smartphone app The Sunamp is designed so it first recharges from the heat pump, and after 45 mins if not fully charged it will activate the immersion to finish the charging. You can however disable this function, as described on section 3.8, page 36, table 16.2. of the manual You will need to remove link 3 to disable the heater backup option. Here is the manual for my Sunamp: https://sunamp.com/en-gb/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2022/03/D0056-1-Thermino-hp-DN-SG-Heat-Batteries-Installation-and-User-Manual.pdf
  2. I have a Sunamp UniQ installed with a Daikin Altherma H HT 16kw heat pump for hot water supply The UniQ model is : UniQ HW 12+ILTHP-DN It has been installed for 2 years without any problems, but I have recently noticed that the UniQ starts being reheated by the ASHP, but after some time switches over to the internal electric heater which of course is an expensive way to heat hot water. The Sunamp Uniq doesn't appear to have any user changeable settings. Does anybody know of any way to stop this happening
  3. When I called out the refrigeration engineer to regas the Ecocent he was very surprised that the heat exchanger pipe appeared to be aluminum which is more likely to be eroded by galvanic action.
  4. I was told by ESP at the time of purchase that the Ecocent is made for them in China
  5. Hi All My experience of the Ecocent may be of interest to forum members. I had one for 4 1/2 years when it started to struggle heating our hot water. EarthSave were called out and for a charge of £300 informed me that the heat exchanger gas had leaked out. The Earthsave engineer suggested that we turn the Ecocent off & use it as a hot water tank as it was already connected to our boiler for backup contingency. Earthsave don't have a gas refill service, so I called out a refrigeration engineer who found that the gas was leaking inside the tank & so it wasn't possible to get it working again. The Ecocent has a sacrificial anode which needs replacing every year to 18 months at a cost of around £300 to get Earthsave to change. I had the first one replaced after 18 months & the next one 2 years later. My thoughts are that the heat exchanger pipe was being corroded causing it to fail. Earthsave don't mention the anode replacement to customers, but this has a huge impact on running costs & longevity of the Ecocent. Earthsave give an estimated life of 15 years for the Ecocent compared with my experience of 54 months. In my experience it would have been much cheaper to have a good quality hot water tank heated by a central heating boiler.
