  1. LOL, seems like everyone sees a FREE ticket as a Trojan horse con...I will give the tickets to a couple standing in the queue outside Excel, Used to be seen as a 'must visit' for self builders guess youtube and the internet has taken over
  2. Hi, I have two tickets for the Grand Designs Show at Excel...FREE to whoever has the best reason for getting them Funny...Sad... get thinking and enjoy a fantastic show, bests doing the gardening lol
  3. How to clean Hi Gloss tiles which seem to be very popular, these tiles seem to dry with smears often looking worse than before you started. The problem is the cleaning fluid you are using which, if not removed properly, will cause a build up or layer, remember... the tile was shiny when you laid it. Often just using clean water is the answer and then a good dry buff...give it a go and let us know.
  4. Austin Lodge is a great golf course, nestled in the valley and playing my military golf, left...right....left most electric carts batteries go flat lol...some great comments on the design aspect. As a builder I used to love the unusual aspect of a project...a feature or something quirky but curves and obtuse angles make it harder to furnish. Farnborough Park is a great example of great looking bungalows being very profitable as surrounding properties showed what can be done, so if you really want to make money, build something comfortable on a great plot and wait for the designers to do their thing making your plot extremely attractive as Mr Money say's..."This is what he should have built"
  5. When you design your property do you consider the consequence of making it too 'ARTY'. A property near where I live has adopted the popular 'GREY' look which is current but is it future proof?
  6. It must be everybody's dream to build their own home, or at least be part of the design. As an ex builder, bricklayer based, I have helped many of your fellow 'selfers' create their dream but having been slowed down by Parkinson's I moved into Kitchens, Bathrooms and lighting design. I am moving on to the final aspect of my working career and looking to become an agent for Vorwerk, a German manufacturer of floor cleaning, maintenance equipment. My question is Do you consider the aftercare of your floor covering? I have lost count of the bowed real timber floors, the T&G floorboard disasters and the regularly over wet laminate flooring signs. The products are for the domestic market and I would be happy to assist, advise or demonstrate the best aftercare methods and maintenance procedures for your installation. Admin, please advise me on any rules infringements that I may have made or text changes required, my intention is to prevent some of the problems I have experienced.
