  1. How about leaving the en-suite where it is but rotate it 90 degrees and you can resize it to fit how you would like it?
  2. They need the certificate though that protects them from the vat man, the one on HMRC seems to be more related to charities etc from what I can see?
  3. I am trying to find out how to issue a 708 Notice to my builders but the HMRC guidance is difficult to follow (for me) Does anyone have an example of a completed form that would work with my property I am renovating/extending under the two year empty property rules please? Neil
  4. How did your research go?
  5. Thanks I will take a look them.
  6. I have sent a request to a local joiners but not had anything back for a week or so.
  7. I’m not too sure, I had imagined weights and ropes, but I want it to look correct, and work smoothly, within a reasonable budget.
  8. Does anyone have any recent experience with supply and costs for these, I really like the look of the frames and need French Doors with glazed sidelights and a fixed window to replace an existing exterior door?
  9. A couple of local builders I spoke to previously were not giving Jeld-Wen a very good reference, although this was from a couple of years ago.

    Ouch

Looks like I have picked a great time to start a project..
  11. I am looking to get 7 replacement timber sliding sash windows made to replace some old PVC windows, they measure approx. 1600 (H) x 1000 (W), does anyone have any experience of what pricing level I should be expecting?
  12. We won’t be causing any problems to the neighbours on either side, or to the rear I don’t think. There are other properties in the road with similar extensions as well. I know the planners make baffling decisions at times, but I am as confident as I can be that the scheme will be ok. I am certainly going be nervous until it comes through though. If it gets rejected I can still refurbish what’s there and sell it on, but that’s not what we want to do, it’s going to be our home.
  13. Hi Ian we are as sure as we can be without actually getting the permission through. There is no real reason we shouldn’t be able to…. I have already put in for planning but it is likely we will complete the purchase before planning is decided.
  14. Good morning, I have been browsing this forum for a few days and it looks like it is a very useful place. We are just buying a house that we will be extending and I am sure we can learn lots here along the way.
