  1. Could I use something like this works? Those foil insulation which is thiner https://www.superquilt-insulation.co.uk/product/ybs-superquilt-for-roofs-walls/?attribute_size=1.2m+x+10m+Roll
  2. Even with 2 port valve to splitting from the manifold , the combi can't delivery heating while producing DHW? Do you meant that if I have underfloor heating turn on, I won't have hot water for shower?
  3. What about 1st floor? 1st floor won't have space for insulation right? So, there is no need for insulation for 1st floor if I am installing underfloor heating on 1st floor too? Thanks.
  4. My house have a fairly high ceiling (2.5M+) i wonder if i can place a 100mm PIR on top of the concreate slab and water pipe you saw in the picture , and then put underfloor overlay board on top, and finally put LVT on top of it? Would that be sufficient to keep the insulation like that?
  5. When I started renovating my house, I then found out the floor under the original wooden board is concrete and there is not enough space to put any insulation down there. I think I have to install overlay style underfloor heating board something like Polypipe Overlay plus on top of the existing wooden board. The questions are... 1. Would putting overlay underflooring heating board without insulation down below would be enough for heating the house? 2. I wonder what is the sizing of the combi boiler should I use? The existing house have relatively new Greenstar 34CDI combi boiler for a 1000 feet terrace house (3 rooms). I wonder if that is good enough if I am planning to do underfloor heating for 3 rooms on 1st floor and living room + kitchen on ground floor? (Each floor has its own manifold and boiler is in the kitchen on ground floor) Or do I need a even bigger combi boiler? Thanks.
  6. I am trying to get a quote from Polypipe on this 100m2 terrace house on both ground and 1st floor. The quote is about £5.5k including VAT. Labor cost for installation quote has been pretty expensive in London area, which is £5k+ for various quote. So, I am trying to get something cheaper, I look at Wunda UFH. I was reading this post by PeterW The cost is a lot cheaper for the supply. Since I am covering about 60m2 area for each floor, I wonder if I can buy two set of Screed Underfloor Kit - Up to 60m² and also the rest of these Control Box - £54 Actuators - £183 (Self Balancing) Thermostats - £90 Would that work in my case? Please note that I will need two manifold, one for ground floor and one for 1st floor. And I will be using radiator in conjunction with UFH. I read somewhere that I would need a "2 port valve". I wonder do wundatrade.co.uk provide these as well? I will be using Amtico LVT for flooring. For these kind of setup, I wonder how much it will usually cost for UFH installation as well as connecting the manifold to the boiler in London area? Thanks!
  7. Thanks for your reply. However, I am using a combi boiler, which doesn't have a water tank on 1st floor. I wonder how the manifold on 1st floor would connect to?
  8. I am new to the UFH installation. I am planning to install UFH on both ground floor and 1st floor. The boiler is on the ground floor in the kitchen. If I decide to have two manifold for the UFH, I wonder how the manifold on the 1st floor connect to the boiler? Would the manifold connect to one of the radiator on the 1st floor? Or it's a lot more complicate than this? thanks.
