John Parfit
We live in a super fast not spot. The good news is that we are on the plan to get an FTTP connection in the summer as we’re too far from the cabinet for effective FTTC. We have planning permission to convert a barn on our property to 3 dwellings. Looking at Openreach policy they would charge a £3k fee to connect these to FTTP. Basically wondering if if I should register my site with them before they install FTTP so they can allow for the 3 additional properties or whether i’m Best to just build them and ask for a connection once the FTTP is already in place via an ISP? Any experience or advice welcome. john
Jeremy Harris
A price of £3k for FoD seems, if anything, pretty low to me. We're in a marginal FTTC area, so I asked about getting FTTP via FoD, and was told that the price would be around £9k, but that if we got together with other nearby properties they could reduce this a bit, as the cost of the main fibre run from the cabinet could be shared.
