Extension Self-Build

Hi there,

 

I'm undertaking my first major build with a timber frame extension to my house. Just a 3 by 3 single-storey box room but it will be a challenge for sure given my level of experience. Just had my drawings approved and permissions granted so starting to work out first steps and logistics for kicking off.

I am slowly working my way through a single-storey extension of similar size which I have made as complicated as I possibly can! It's post-and-beam (where stud would have been far quicker) because I like post-and-beam, and it is wood-fibre EWI'd (which is good, but I didn't *have* to do it that way). My major issues have been delivery delays and winter.

I'm just looking at the earlier stages of a self build timber framed extension, searching the forums for knowledge etc with people who have had/done them before.. 

 

Just wondering if either of you guys would be OK with answering some questions or even sharing some details ie the make up of the walls and foundations?

 

As Im hoping to do the drawings and submissions myself.
